The following questions WILL help you in writing a cover letter.

* How did you hear about the position?
* What is the exact name and date of the publication?
* Do you know anyone at that company? Contact them and then refer to them in your letter.
* What is the exact title of the position you are applying for?
* What is the exact name and spelling of the company/organization?
Second paragraph
* What skills, abilities, educational background, experience, etc are listed as qualifications?
* How does that match your qualifications?
* What other skills, talents, knowledge, or experience will you bring to the position?
* What are your top qualifications for the position?
* Why is the position interesting to you?
* What do you know about the company?
Third paragraph
* What personal characteristics or traits might set you apart from other candidates?
* What are your strongest skills?
* Do you have a special interest in or connection to this field or organization?
* What aspect(s) of your background particularly qualify you for this position?
* What is unique about you in relation to this position?
* How would you be an asset to this company/organization?
Format
Keep your cover letter to one page and use the same bond-paper as your resume. Don't forget to sign your letter after you type it. Be sure your cover letter follows proper business letter format.

Following is an example of the Full Block Format, a typical style that works well for cover letters.
